ARPA will be exhibiting at this year’s Rail Fair at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale.

If you can help us by staffing our booth for a couple hours, please call 480.947.5710 or president Rob Bohannan and let us know. No advance training required.

The Rail Fair:

All Aboard!  This free event features model train displays and exhibits, moonwalks, and other entertainment.  Free tours through the Roald Amundsen Pullman car, a former presidential car.  Many of the park’s seldom seen railroad equipment will be on display.  Train ride is $2.00 and carousel ride is $1.00 each.  Children under three ride free with a paying adult Saturday & Sunday, October 9 – 10, 10am – 5pm

South Tempe, Ahwatukee and west Chandler could get a little closer to light rail if a new Tempe South Corridor Study shows it would relieve increasingly heavy north-south traffic…

The study will examine transportation needs of the area between Priest Drive and Loop 101, and downtown Tempe and the Santan Freeway. The area includes Chandler Fashion Center and the Price Corridor…

A light-rail extension south from the line under construction in Tempe along Apache Boulevard is an option, but it’s not the only one, [Wulf] Grote said. Additional bus lines or commuter rail service on the Union Pacific tracks between Kyrene and Priest roads also will be examined…

The City of Phoenix and METRO (Valley Metro / Valley Metro Rail) invite you to attend a public meeting to learn about and provide input to the high-capacity transit study in the I-10 West Study area. Project background, potential alignments and various transportation modes will be discussed.

The next meeting will be Thursday, 25 October, 3-6pm, at University Park, Safe Haven Room, 350 N. 10th Ave., Phoenix.
